What do Fiestas Patrias mean to you?
Well for me the Fiestas Patrias are an instance for share with my family and my friends, we always do funny things, we went to fondas and drank chicha of Curacaví jajajaja and of course the unmissable barbecue.

What typical Chileans do?
I think that a typical Chileans go to fondas with the family and eat anticuchos, choripanes, or some people go to a park and made a barbecue and your child fly a kite, or other people made a fonda in your house and invite to your parents, your friends and all the people that they want, some people go to the beach or the farm to rest. All this things depend the family and the ties with the Fiestas Patrias.

What you did as a child?
Uff when I was a child I went to Melipilla and celebrate with all my family, I have 12 uncles, and many cousins like 30. The18 September, we stay on my grandmother house, we made a barbecue with Chilean salad, we bought empanadas, and we played pinpon and fly a kite. The 19 September we went to my uncle’s house in Melipilla of couse and we made the same but they have a swimming pool, so we swam there and played all the time.

What you do nowadays?
Now I stay in Santiago and went to a fonda, but the last fonda that I went, was horrible I dislike very much. Now I hope that this fonda be better. For other part I made a barbecue with my family on my brother house, and I want to go to Lo cañas and celebrate with my boyfriend, and his family.

Which was your favourite 18 and why?
My favourites 18, was went I was a child, I liked very much share with all my family, I played with my cousins and l laugh very much. The other 18 that I like was on 2002, with my school friend’s went to the Stadium National Fonda, and drank chicha, and was bad because after drank we were with stomach pain but apart of this event I laugh very much, I remembered that was really fun.

In five years......

Well, in five years, professionally, I will like be working in some projects of energy efficiency or any organism that do innovations projects. I like the new things and I like very much the innovations. If I in Santiago I will like work for care the environments and if I working out of my country I will like be working on investigation. Really I prefer be working in Santiago and maybe I could do both things. Personally i would like to have a baby, because I want to be mother relatively young, I always think in 25 or 26 years old. I hope be living alone in a house or apartment (not so small), really I prefer a house, because I will to have more space and garden (for put many plants), and my baby could play more free. I will like very much have my mother and my brother near and we could launch together and see us all or many weekends. Well I think is a normal and quite life, just like me jajajaja.

My English Experience

Really I don`t remember my first class in English, but I`m going to talk about the first class that I remember, of course. I was on American British School in primary school, and my first teacher was very good, I always had the best marks, but one day a girl call Paloma (she was the teacher`s daughter) so she start to had the best marks. After that, my mom changed me to another school call Santa María de Lo Cañas, and there, had a teacher amazing she was very good. When I was 13 years old I was French, in the school, and the teacher was very bad, so my experience with another language was horrible, I had very bad marks. I don`t know if im successful or unsuccessful, but I think that I can understand people that talk this language and I can write for the people understand me. I think that a successful person can talk without problems and all the people can understand them. I think that im a starter learner, because there are many think that I don`t know. I think that talk English is very easy because you can improvise with pronunciation and its more easy express myself. And I find difficult the grammar, because you have to learn all the verbs in past, and the present, and the other difficult for me is the vocabulary, because in my school I didn`t use much word so its hard for me the translate for example. The English culture is very respectable but I love the Chilean culture, I think we have a spark that English culture doesn`t have. I don`t have a friend that was England, but I know people that talk English very good, for example the husband of a friend, he talk very good because his father was England and he learn him. The English is very useful for me, because in my career all the documents or papers (the bibliography) are in English, so I have to translate and I need understand very well the ideas.

Summary....."Deserts cities are living on borrowed time, UN warns

The people that are living on the desert cities have a life more unbearable by the high temperatures and the salinization of the water, says the UN.

For the increase of the temperatures and less rainfall the deserts move closer to communities that leave on the periphery, less land to cultivate, and lost of wild species.

The report suggest that the deserts become to energy powerhouse (capturing the solar energy and export electicity to all world). But the problem is the salinitation, because the water is undrinkable, and there isn’t water for crops. For other part, the incease of the temperatures complicate the melting of glaciers and there is more water evaporation, hence the water will drying up.

Finally the reports envisages that the deserts become to touris attraction and some plants that will grow there could be the “crops of the future”.

My Life

Hello my name is Natalia i have 21 years old, i have a brother, his name is Guillermo, he study Geology and he live in the center of Santiago with her girlfriend and her daughter call Helena, she is 9 month and ahe is very very beautiful. I live only with my beautiful mother call Cecy.
I always lived in La Florida, I like very much, is very quiet. My friends live very near so, its very good.
In my short life I have many hobbies, first I collected ¨esquelas¨ (are papers with colours, figures and some times with smell) after I collected keychains, I was 2 years collected, my friends and my family gave me. Afer that I collected bus ticket of course before Transantiago becacuse the ticket have different figures, there are beautiful. Finally born in me a love for the Teathre so, I enter to a summer workshop in the University of Chile and was there all the summer, I always was teathre plays. Now I don´t have a defined hobbie but I like go to the cinema, and walk for the city know new places.
Well now im study Geography and every year I like more I think that I find my area into geography so I feel very quiet and happy.

My Blogging Experience

When the teacher Simon said us that we will have to make a blog, I think oh my god, how boring, but with time I started to like the blog and the posts that we had to do. So, I think that the blog it’s a different way to learn English and of course the grammar and more things.
I don’t have a special thing that I didn’t like, only one blog that I hate, it was the my favorite idol, because this day I enter to the class at 15.30 hrs so, I don’t had time to think in my favorite idol and my beautiful friend Catalina told that I write about Don Francis and I did it, but I don’t like don’t Francis and never would be my idol ever in the life. But the post that I loved was the “My favorite song”, because I remembered beautiful things about my past and how I laft with the song and my friend and his family.

Well with this blog I learn very much vocabulary, because in the other classes i don’t learn words to spell, and I learn grammar like the past of the verbs and things like that.
Really I thing that there isn’t best post, because is about our experience, but the post that I laft very much was the Marilyn Monroe of Maira, in my opinion, is like a dream be with her (Marilyn) i will like be there in this meeting.
Now the blog that I like very much it’s Javiera, i like the colors that she use, the green with the black, (I like the picture of Johnny Deep of course). I think that her blog is very happy and very beautiful, she doesn’t have ugly pictures, I like the font, I don’t know I think is harmonic.

Why? Why?

Well I’m studying Geography because there was the only career that I can study, I had the score, and I liked the subject. When I was in 4° medio I want to study Theatre and I don’t had other career in my mind, then I made the special quiz and I not was selected. So, I had to think what career I want study and my brother told me that there was a career called Geography and was very interesting, so, I saw the subject and made the postulation, and now I’m here made this work. Now that I’m studying these, my favourite subject was Geomorphology, because I understood thinks that always asked me.

In ten years I will like stay out of Santiago, in other city of Chile work in a beautiful environmental project. I think that Geographers can make many thinks because have creative’s ideas and have the tools to help save the planet, I think that with a group of professionals including the geographer could be makes things and projects really goods.

I think that the Geographer doesn’t need more technological tools, because we can do it with the tools that have now. The geographer has the ideas, the creative, things that stay in our minds, not in materials thing. Obviously that needs things like maps, satellites photography’s, etc. but there are things that we have now.
